Trip to Japan: Designing With Transparent Elements (11/24/24)
The intention behind my creation of this art piece was to explore the possibilities of physical design when incorporating elements of differing transparencies. The illustrations in each section highlight elements of Japanese culture, coming together to form a cohesive work of art.
Design Process
After selecting and finalizing the design concepts, I sketched the bottom designs onto Bristol Paper using pencil.
I then proceeded to add color to the bottom design using watercolor.
To incorporate elements of differing transparency, I utilized black paper (no transparency), tracing paper (partial transparency, and a mylar sheet (full transparency).
